A Message of Farewell from Lise Gauvin – Retiring WICC Board Member

My involvement with the World Day of Prayer in Ottawa, our national capital, allowed me to connect with the Women’s Inter-Church Council of Canada. What a connection! It has enriched my life in many ways, and I wholeheartedly recommend it, to anyone wishing to put their prayers into action more than once a year.

I was honoured to be elected to the Board. I found this board to be comprised of exceptional Christian women who believe in prayer in action. Their commitment was evident in the dedication given to being prepared for the meetings and sharing their talents to promote World Day of Prayer. This allows us to contribute to a better world by assessing the grants applications received from Canada and abroad and then distributing them for the betterment of women and their families.

My attendance at the Annual General Meetings was always a source of fulfilment, knowing my presence made a difference. This group of women provides a blessed environment where prayers spring from the heart. We shared not only responsibilities but also caring for each other’s burdens or challenges.

I forgot to mention the ability to have fun while working, enjoying the fellowship that leads to respect and fond memories of very good times.

Dear board members, I already miss you, take good care.
