I’m Teresa Decker, appointed by The Salvation Army, to serve as a denominational representative on the WICC Board. As WICC’s newest Board member, I will be part of the Marketing and Communications team.
For the past 27 years, I have had the privilege of serving as a Salvation Army Officer/Pastor, living and ministering in communities across Canada. Each community and season of ministry has shaped me, strengthened my faith, and reminded me of the importance of building relationships and sharing God’s love in meaningful, practical ways.
I currently live in Toronto, ON where I serve as the Territorial Women’s Ministries Secretary for the Canada and Bermuda Territory. One of the greatest joys of my role is the opportunity to walk alongside women & young girls, offering encouragement, support, and opportunities to grow in their faith and leadership. I believe deeply in the power of investing in women and girls, knowing that the impact reaches far beyond individuals to touch families, communities, and future generations.
A verse that has been a constant source of encouragement throughout my journey is Joshua 1:9, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” These words remind me that wherever God leads us, we can move forward with faith, courage, and confidence in His presence. I am grateful for the assurance of God’s presence and for the privilege of serving him by walking alongside others.
